“I grew up in the Catholic Church. I remember receiving Communion from the priests and studying their catechism. As a young child, I was curious. So, I also remember asking about the Ten Commandments. I was told not to worry about that, specially about the Sabbath. So, I didn’t worry.
When I was just eight years old, my neighbor invited me to some Seventh-day Adventist tent meetings. I remember it vividly. We were talking about the commandments of God and the Sabbath and the love of Christ. I was just a child, but I was excited. I went home and asked my mom, ‘Can I pray to Jesus instead of Mary?’ Because in my Sunday school I was learning the Rosary and The Hail Mary. My mom said, ‘Okay, you don't have to pray to Mary no more.’
I got baptized when I got to College. I was about 18-years old. I think that in my heart, I always knew that the commandments were important. They were not done away in the cross like I was taught as a child. I’m grown now, but I continue to learn about the truth. It’s wonderful because every day I get the chance to fall deeper in love with my living Savior.”
