How I Met My Husband: Steve was my uncle’s assistant whenever he would run the church’s sound system in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I sat beside him (my uncle) one Sabbath when I was there on summer break visiting my grandma and he didn’t bother to tell me that was Steve’s seat! I was eleven at the time and Steve was fourteen and as tall as he is now. You can imagine how surprised I was when a tall, lanky teenage boy came and sat next to me! I couldn’t help but notice how responsible, clean-cut, and spiritual he was even that early on. I had a crush on him from day one. At the end of my summer break he asked me if I would be his pen pal and we wrote back and forth for about six years before letters started turning into phone calls. We were married in September of 2005, eight years after we met.

How I Became an Adventist: “I was raised Seventh-day Adventist and am grateful of it. My parents loved God and loved me which made the faith very attractive. I was also blessed to have close musical friends who took me under their wing growing up; they gave me a ministry rich in the church, which helped me cement the faith as my own. I was baptized pretty much as soon as I lost my fear of going underwater! I’ve never looked back.”

What I Like to Do for Fun: Steve and I enjoy family time, hiking, camping, and game nights

Favorite Bible Promise: Luke 11:13: “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.”
