Kentucky Churches Find New Homes

This year has been very busy as we work to find new homes for several of our churches. It is a lengthy process, but with patience and perseverance, God has provided permanent homes for some of these church families.

In addition to determining each church’s ability to secure a loan through the Southern Union Revolving Fund, they also receive a small amount from a conference fund called the ‘Conference Appropriation.’ Currently, the policy allows churches to receive $11,000 from this fund for the purchase of a ‘new-to-them’ home. I look forward to a day when more funds are available through the ‘Conference Appropriation’ to further assist these churches in purchasing a new church home

London, Kentucky — now East Bernstadt Seventh-day Adventist Church

This church needed room to grow and found a larger, more modern, and beautiful building with acreage in East Bernstadt, a suburb of London. The closing took place on May 13, 2024. Their new facility is located at 2960 KY Hwy 490, East Bernstadt, Kentucky.

Owensboro Hispanic Church
We had been searching for a permanent church home for this congregation for many years without success—until this year. On May 20, just before camp meeting, we were able to close on the property, and the church has since held its grand opening. They are now enjoying their new home at 9 Gale Avenue, Owensboro, Kentucky.

Somerset Hispanic SDA Church

This church family had been without a home for many years, but they finally found a church that will be a wonderful place for them to grow and settle in. The building is in an excellent location, right in town. The closing took place on June 26, 2024, and the pastor, along with several church members, came to be part of this historic moment in their church’s history. Their new home is located at 65 Kentucky 192, Somerset, Kentucky.

There are currently three more property purchases in progress, and we hope the closings will take place before the end of the year. Please keep these churches in your prayers as they work towards securing their own permanent homes.

If you are attending a church that doesn’t yet own its own building, I encourage each of you to start saving for a future church home, as real estate prices are continually rising. If your church has any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at the Association Office of the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference.
