Springfield II Hispanic Church celebrates growth, God’s faithfulness through dedicatory service
On the morning of January 15, members of The Springfield II Hispanic, Tenn., Church along with the pastor, KYTN Hispanic ministries coordinator and conference officials, rejoiced in a special dedicatory service as the mission transitioned to a company.
The Springfield II Hispanic Church was established on September 26 of 2020 after Kieth Noll, KYTN Ministerial Director, and Armando De León, KYTN Hispanic Ministries Coordinator, raised the possibility of opening a new Hispanic congregation in Springfield. District pastor Emilio Perche and the Springfield Hispanic Church Board accepted the opportunity.
“The potential to reach the Hispanic community in Springfield is tremendous,” Perche said. “[The Springfield Hispanic Church] had grown so much that we began holding our meetings outside. We did not fit in our temple anymore.”
Earlier that year, a church building, with all the necessary facilities for operation, had been made available to the conference. The building was given to the mission, and three families accepted the pioneering roles of leading the Springfield II Hispanic Church.
Since its conception, the Springfield II Hispanic Church has held various activities such as weeks of prayer, family camps, retreats for married couples and missionary visits. Subsequently, new members were added through baptism, Profession of Faith, and transfers of membership – giving shape and passage to the new status of "company." Currently, the company has more than 30 baptized members plus additional regular visitors.
During the dedication service, Noll preached about the importance of evangelism and Mike Hewitt, KYTN Vice President of Administration, held a dedicatory prayer. The audience was also reminded of the church’s history and accepted the De Leon’s challenge to continue growing through faith in God.
“For now, the history of this group of faithful is short but very significant,” Perche said. “We believe that, with God's blessing, the complete history of this congregation will be told in heaven, as a testimony of what God can and wants to do with all his church around the world.”
