It cost nothing for students to both apply and join any of our canvassing programs.

They will receive 50% of the money they earn canvassing either sent to their school directly or to their home as a check (for summer programs they must complete at least 8 weeks of canvassing to get their full 50%). The other 50% covers the cost of the materials they use for canvassing (books, bags, wallets, receipts, etc.) as well as gas, provided program food, car repairs and leadership pay. A small program fee is subtracted from the students overall check for the 10-week Summer program. If students do not have their own health insurance an additional $200 is subtracted from their overall pay to cover their basic health insurance during the summer.

Though none of our programs cost anything upfront, we encourage parents to send enough money with their children for the first two weeks of lunches and laundry mat expenses as well as money for activities on Friday. After the first two weeks the students will be making enough money that they should be able to cover their own expenses from the allowance they will be able to take from their canvassing money. The allowance each week will be 5% of their overall weekly earnings. (Taking an allowance will reduce their final pay to 45% because they have already used 5% during the program). Students do not have to take their allowance, but this means that parents will need to send enough money for them to cover their expenses for the entire summer (this money does not need to be sent to the students all at once. It can be sent weekly).
